• What exactly is guaranteed: the departure, the activity, a re-ride, or only an attempt?
• Where is the actual meeting point and can you reach it without a fragile same-day transfer?
• What changes when wind, swell, rain, or a port closure affects the plan?
• What are the swimming, certification, age, and health requirements?
• What equipment, food, towels, photos, and transport are included on the selected option?
• Is the activity boat-based, shore-entry, surface-only, or scuba, and does that match your ability?
• Which rules protect animals, including flash, lights, touching, and selfie-stick limits?
• What is the cancellation, no-sighting, refund, or rebooking policy?
• Does your travel insurance cover the exact activity, including scuba or remote-island evacuation where relevant?
• Do you have a buffer before your next flight, ferry, or non-refundable connection?
• Have you saved the confirmation, harbour map, contact method, and current weather notice offline?

Why this is the useful part of trip planning

In Japan's marine destinations, a beautiful animal photo and a current reservation calendar do not remove weather, port, or participation risk. The travelers who have the best days are usually the ones who choose a product that fits their logistics and allow the crew to change the plan safely.
