What this site is for
Japan Wild Ocean helps travelers plan marine wildlife trips where season, sea state, skill, access, and animal welfare matter. We make uncertainty visible instead of treating wildlife as a guaranteed product.
How guides are researched
We use operator, transport, destination, and booking information as a starting point, then separate confirmed logistics from conditions that must be checked again. Rules, prices, ports, seasons, and availability can change quickly.
How recommendations are made
We compare activity fit, required experience, animal welfare, weather exposure, access, and cancellation risk before considering whether a planning link is available. We do not promise a sighting, rank an experience because it pays a commission, or describe a managed encounter as open-ocean wildlife.
Wild and managed encounters
Wildlife guides describe free-ranging animals and never promise a sighting. Managed or captive-animal experiences are labeled separately so readers can make an informed ethical choice.
Keeping a guide current
Each guide shows the date of its latest editorial revision. That date is not a substitute for a live operator check: use it to understand the guide's currency, then confirm the exact operator, date, port, requirements, and cancellation terms before paying.
Commercial independence
Some useful planning links may earn a commission. That does not change how an animal, operator, or destination is described. Read the affiliate disclosure for details.
